Two primary functions of APIACU is to provide a center stage for the AANAPISIs and to represent their collective voice. The APIACU Membership is a key component of these functions, acting as the only organized coalition of Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs). This coalition also includes institutions that support the mission of APIACU and of the AANAPISIs. In total, the APIACU membership is a concentrated and collaborative network of colleges and universities that all share the collective interest of serving Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and low-income students.
The APIACU membership impacts the community on multiple levels, empowering not only APIACU, but ultimately the community of AANAPISIs across the nation and the thousands of students they serve. By having a concentrated network, our efforts become more focused, the visibility of our community becomes sharpened, and the volume of its voice is amplified. With the addition of each institution, the completeness and collectiveness of this network is further achieved, and its voice that APIACU echoes when advocating its concerns grows louder.
Every AANAPISI and every higher-education institution supportive of AAPI students is a necessary member institution, and so we hope that your institution decides to join us.
